Invoice factoring
Invoice factoring is the sale of your accounts receivable to a third-party factoring company. You deliver the service or product, issue an invoice, then immediately sell that invoice at a discount. The factoring firm advances you 70 to 90 percent of the invoice value upfront and collects payment directly from your customer. When your customer pays, the factoring co remits the reserve minus a factoring fee. It's not a loan. You're selling an asset, so there's no debt on your balance sheet and no fixed repayment schedule.
Midland's economy runs on long payment cycles. Oilfield contractors wait months for operators to process invoices, and trucking company factoring companies know that hauling sand, water, or pipe to a Spraberry well means you're often last in the payment queue. Factoring receivables bridges that gap so payroll, fuel, and parts don't stall your operation.
Invoice factoring
Approval hinges on your customers' creditworthiness, not yours. A factoring firm underwrites the businesses that owe you money. If they're creditworthy, you qualify, even if your own credit is weak or you're a startup. Most factoring companies for trucking companies and service contractors want to see commercial invoices with payment terms, a history of delivering to solvent clients, and no existing liens on receivables.
Industries we broker factoring for include oilfield trucking, hot-shot delivery, frac-sand hauling, well-service contractors, temporary staffing for rig crews, and machine shops supplying Permian Basin operators. If you invoice other businesses and wait weeks for payment, AR factoring is probably available.
Operators use invoice financing to cover payroll between big contract milestones. A trucking outfit based near Cotton Flat might factor invoices to buy a replacement truck without waiting for an E&P company's accounts-payable cycle. A Stanton welding shop factors to restock steel when a refinery project invoice sits unpaid. Factoring lets you say yes to new orders without worrying whether your bank account can carry the float.
Because Midland sits at the heart of the Permian, payment delays ripple through every supply chain. When an operator in Warfield or Greenwood pushes a 60-day invoice to 90, your factoring line keeps cash flowing so you don't turn down the next job.
How it works
Walk into our office at 2402 W Wall St, Midland, TX 79701, or call (432) 277-9693. We'll review your invoice aging report, customer list, and delivery documentation. Then we shop your scenario to factoring companies for trucking industry clients and service contractors in our network. We compare advance rates, fee structures, and whether the factoring firm requires all invoices or lets you cherry-pick. Once you choose, the factoring company verifies invoices and wires funds, often within 24 to 48 hours.
We're brokers, so we earn a fee from the factoring company when the deal closes. You pay nothing upfront to explore options.
A hot-shot operator running loads from Gardendale to well sites around the Spraberry Trend had $180,000 in unpaid invoices spread across three E&P customers. The operator needed to replace a worn flatbed and cover driver wages. We brokered a factoring arrangement that advanced funds against the two largest invoices, freeing cash to buy the truck and meet payroll. The operator kept the third invoice on normal terms because that customer paid promptly. No blanket lien, no all-or-nothing requirement.
